SynergEyes lenses are hybrid contact lenses that combine a rigid center with a soft outer skirt. This design offers the crisp, stable vision of a rigid lens with the comfort of a soft lens. While SynergEyes lenses are not FDA-approved specifically for myopia control, they can be a useful off-label option in certain situations when other treatments are not ideal.
Although not a standard myopia-control lens, the unique optical properties of the rigid center can create a more stable visual profile that may support myopia management in select cases. These lenses are considered off-label for this purpose, and we reserve their use for children who have specific visual or anatomical needs that make them a better fit than traditional myopia-control options.
SynergEyes hybrid lenses may be considered for:
Children who struggle with soft lens stability
Children with irregular corneal shapes
Kids whose prescriptions do not respond well to soft myopia-control lenses
Cases where a hybrid design provides more consistent optics
Children who need a clear, stable image but cannot adapt to rigid lenses
Combines sharp vision with soft-lens comfort
Provides better stability than many soft lenses
Can be an alternative for children who are not ideal candidates for Ortho-K or soft myopia-control lenses
Offers a customized approach when standard treatments are not enough
At Capitol Eye Care Center, SynergEyes lenses are used selectively and thoughtfully. Because this is an off-label approach, our doctors use it only when a child’s specific needs suggest that a hybrid design could offer a meaningful benefit. We are committed to choosing the safest and most effective option for each child’s unique eyes.
